What words can we use to make a song?

Materials: Classroom instruments (drums, shakers, rhythm sticks) or homemade instruments, Vocabulary chart 

Instructions:

1. Invite children to sit in a circle with instruments and review the vocabulary chart.

2. Start a steady beat and model adding a word from the chart to the rhythm.

3. Encourage children to choose words, play, and build the song together, taking turns.

4. Repeat the song to close.
