Materials:
Shallow tray or bin with water
Food coloring
Variety of sea-themed toys (fish, mermaids, pirates, boats, shells, rocks)
Optional: sand, small props to create underwater scenes
Paper and crayons/markers for optional drawing
Instructions:
Set up the water tray with toys and props, leaving them open-ended for exploration.
Invite children to create their own underwater story, using any toys and props, moving characters, and imagining adventures freely.
Encourage children to share their story with peers if they want, describing what happened and how their characters interacted. Drawing is optional for children who want to illustrate their story.
