Materials:
5 clear jars or bottles
Water
Food coloring (red, blue, yellow, green, etc.)
Metal spoon or stick (for tapping)
Tray or table surface
Simple color-coded “song strip” (dots or circles in a pattern)
Instructions:
Fill each jar with different amounts of water.
Add food coloring to make each jar a different color.
Line the jars up in a row on a tray or table.
Give children a spoon or stick to gently tap the jars.
Invite children to listen carefully, each jar makes a different sound.
Introduce the idea of a “sound pattern song” using the colored strip.
Ask children to tap the jars in order of the pattern (example: blue → red → blue).
Encourage children to create their own “song” using the jars.
