Clapping, stomping, snapping (body percussion)
Visual pattern cards (AB, AAB, ABC patterns)
Instructions:
Model a simple sound pattern (e.g., clap-clap-stomp, shake-shake-tap).
Ask the children to repeat the pattern using their instruments or body percussion.
Encourage children to create their own patterns, using different sounds for others to follow.
Talk about the patterns (e.g., "What comes next in the pattern?" or "What happens if we change the order?").
Powerful InterACTions PK3:
What sound comes next in this pattern?
Can you make a pattern with your hands or feet?
How does your pattern sound different from mine?
What happens if we make the pattern faster?
What happens if we make the pattern slower?
Powerful InterACTions PK4:
What would happen if we added one more sound to the pattern?
How can we change the pattern to make it more interesting?
Can we create a pattern with three different sounds?
How do we know a pattern is repeating?
Can you change the order of the sounds and still have a pattern?
