What Patterns Can You Make on Your Tree?

Materials:

• Sticks (preferably long for space)

• PIpe cleaners

• Beads / buttons (whatever fits onto the pipe cleaners)

Instructions:

• Wrap pipe cleaners around your sticks to make tree-like figures

• Have some beads out

• Ask children to place beads onto the tree

• Ask them to try and make patterns (using different styled beads, colour beads)

• Ask them to also count how many beads they used / how many beads on one twig (pipe-cleaner)
