What shapes can you create with sticks? 

Materials:

• Natural items: sticks or twigs of different sizes and lengths

• Outdoor space or basket/tray with collected sticks

• Playdough

• Shape cards or pictures (optional, for inspiration)

Instructions:

• Invite children to gather sticks from outside or provide a basket with various sticks.

• Explore the sticks together and talk about their sizes. 

• Encourage children to create their own shapes and describe what they made.

• Use playdough for the corners. 

• Model if needed using the shape cards or pictures.
