Materials:
Photo cards of rhyming words (e.g., cat/hat, dog/log, sun/fun)
Cards placed face down on a table or mat
Instructions:
Introducing rhyming by modeling: “cat… hat… they sound the same at the end!”
Lay all the photo cards face down and mix them up
Children take turns flipping over two cards at a time
Say the words aloud and ask: “Do they rhyme?”
If the cards rhyme, the child keeps the pair; if not, turn them back over and try again
Once the rhyming pairs are found, use the Powerful InterACTion questions to create sentences!
