Obj: 2c, 8a, 10a, 10b, 29
Instructions:
Start by bringing Al to introduce the lesson by having him say “Do you remember our idea to create a calm-down place in your classroom? Today you and your teacher are going to work together to create it. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!”.
Tell the children that they will help create a special place in the classroom where they can go to calm down. Encourage the kids to think of sensory items, books, pillows and other items that might be helpful to have in the calm-down place.
Display different items around the classroom that can be used as calming tools. Discuss with the children which items help them calm down and which ones do not. Then invite the children to place the selected items in the calm-down space (relaxation station).
Invite the children to sing along to the calm down song.
