Materials:
Small pizza bases, English muffins, or flatbread
Tomato sauce
Shredded cheese
A variety of toppings (mushrooms, olives, sweetcorn, tomatoes)
Spoons/ Knives for spreading sauce
Plates or trays
Optional: pictures of shapes or patterns for inspiration
OR
Paper plates
Paint (yellow or red) for pizza base
Pizza toppings cut out in paper (can also use shapes as toppings)
Create their arts and crafts pizza to take home and role-playing.
Instructions:
Give each child a mini pizza base on a plate or tray.
Children spread tomato sauce using a spoon.
Add cheese and toppings, allowing children to choose what they would like.
Encourage children to arrange toppings in patterns, shapes, or groups.
Talk about what they are adding and how they are designing their pizza.
Bake the pizzas and enjoy them together.
