What Numbers Live in Our Book?

Materials:

• The Hungry Caterpillar

• Number Cards 1-10

• Markers/Crayons/Sticky notes

Instructions:

• Read a story together The Very Hungry Caterpillar

• Place number cards around the room (1–10).

• Each time a number is mentioned in the story (or when you see objects to count in the pictures):

• The child finds the matching number card.

• They draw or write the number on a sticky notes

OR

• Find on table (use blocks to build a setting

OR

• Memory game

  • They have to flip a card each until they find the appropriate number (taking turns around the tables)
