Converse about volcanoes with an adult. What do you already know and what you are curious about?
What stories come alive when you think about volcanoes?
Time to make it come alive!
Gather your materials: plastic bottle, funnel, baking soda, vinegar, food coloring or paint.
Design your volcano around the plastic bottle (clay, playdough, sand, dough, etc.).
Use the funnel to place a couple spoonfuls of baking soda in the bottle.
Mix vinegar and food coloring or paint.
Add vinegar mixture to the bottle and observe the eruption.
