What Can We Find When We Go Fishing for Words?

Materials: 

• Magnetic sticks

• Photos of Vocabulary words

• Paper clips (to attach to photos)

• 4 sorting baskets or hoops

• Picture/gesture cards

Instructions:

• Place the vocabulary fish around a small “pond” (i.e. tuff tray, sensory box) and invite children to take turns fishing for a photo.

• When a child catches a photo, ask them to share what they see. 

• Have the group repeat the vocabulary word and gesture together.

• Review the vocabulary together as a team and invite students to notice similarities between the vocabulary words.
