How do numbers help
me tell a story?

Instructions:

1. Watch the video on our website, for the book “Every buddy counts”

2. Have fun listening and talking with your child about the book. 

3. Feel free to pause at any point and discuss the book

4. Listen to the story,  as many times as the student wants!

InterACTions:

• Notice - The first step is paying attention to what the child is interested in. 

• Respond - Offer help or acknowledge what they are doing.  

• Name it - Help your child name what they are focused on.

• Keep it going - Give the child a chance to respond.  

• Is your child moving on to something new in the book?  - I see you are wondering about this now…

• Can you make a story using numbers? Are you ready? With what number would you like to start?
